Pomfret CT Abandoned Settlement “Bara-Hack”
The “Bara-Hack” settlement in Pomfret CT was started around 1780 and abandoned by around 1890. Surviving stonework at the site includes well-preserved cellar holes, walls and other interesting features. The site is now private property. Photos taken with permission November 2007 and May 2008.
Norton MA Chamber
A chamber built into a wall and hillside in Norton MA. The landowner says his family has owned this property for hundreds of years and that the chamber and associated stonework were there before colonial times.
