This page will eventually contain all the reports gathered from witnesses as part of the AERCP. These stories, for which no documentation exists, and which generally can never be investigated, include sightings of ghosts, glimpses of mysterious animals, and even psychic phenomena and undescribable enigmas.
What follows are the witness statements.
"My husband and I have never told this to another living soul until now. I will share what happened: in about 1986 my husband and I were driving to work at about 2am. We were in West Plymouth right in front of Ellis Haven campgrounds and we both saw a pterodactyl fly over, we both saw it, we both knew what it was, it was not a mistake or hallucination, however if anyone were to ever question us about this we would vehemently deny it because we like our freedom and we know we are not crazy!!!" -From an e-mail I received in May 2008
"I lived in Rockland, MA my whole life and 2 years ago I moved to Weymouth, MA. My mom still lives in Rockland, her back yard is the airbase and once in a while you will hear Indian drums and Indian singing in the distance. A lot of people that live there hear this but eventually I think everyone got used to it. One thing sticks out in my head that I will never understand. About 3 years ago me and my 2 friends Courtney and Amy where driving down Route 3A in Hull... I was driving and it was deep woods on both sides late at night no one was on the road. I pulled over because I dropped something in the car, I got it and as I looked up something came out of the woods right in back of us no father away from the trunk than 6 feet, like kind of speed walking. It was HUGE and hairy, it walked on two legs- it was un-humanly and un-animal. All of us saw it and I took off. Till this day I've only drove down the road one other time cause I had no choice."- From an e-mail Irecieved in March 2008
"I live in Swansea Mass, just south of Rehoboth... One incident happened in February of 2007 in a wooded area between Old Warren Rd. and Route 103 in Swansea. My younger brother and his friend were walking in the woods behind my brother's friend's house when they heard a very loud "hoot" coming from the area ahead of them, then the same sound again moments later. They eventually found a bare footprint in the snow near some power lines. It was only about 12 inches long, but it was very wide at the base and the big toe was abnormally big. Since it was already dark and snowing by the time I got all this information, I decided to wait for a better day to investigate the area. Once I got to the area, the only thing I found was a branch that had been twisted in a spiral fashion down the length of a small tree. Later on using satellite images, I tried to determine roughly what route the being would have taken to get to that area if it were heading south through the woods, and I realized that it would have had to eventually cross I-195 (and the large fence bordering it). I drove to Reed St. near that area of the highway and, no kidding, found a section of the fence that looked like it had been pulled down by something very strong. The fence has since been repaired.
Another incident actually occurred with the indirect help of John Horrigan. In late July of this year, John appeared on Don Keating's radio show to talk about bigfoot in Massachusetts, and at one point mentioned the area around Route 16 in Douglas Massachusetts as a hotspot, which happens to be in the Douglas State Forest... We were sitting with our backs facing southeast on the mid-state trail about 1.25 miles north of Route 16 in Douglas. A brook ran underneath the path, though it was almost completely dry at the time. We initially just heard a few barred owls and what sounded like a deer walking across the path to our left. We also heard what sounded like small twigs breaking behind us, but didn't think much of it then. We then heard a coyote barking at something about 50 yards behind us, and after that is when everything got completely quiet. We were pretty nervous, and it did sound like there were things moving around behind us... After a little while of nothing, two of us stood up just to stretch our legs. We eventually heard what sounded like garbled speech farther away from us, then something a lot closer to us made a sound like "waahhh" in a very gruff voice. By that time we were honestly more curious than scared. After the last sound we stayed for a little while longer, then decided it was time to leave...
There are other stories. For instance, one of the people who went with me to the Douglas State Forest heard a horrible scream coming from the woods behind his house one night a few years ago, which I remember him telling me about the day after it happened. It was only after I got into bigfoot research and found a sample of a bigfoot scream that we were able to find anything close to what he had heard. The same person told me a story about someone he knew who was driving through the Freetown-Fall River State Forest with some friends one night and had to stop the car to take a look at it. When they went outside rocks were thrown at them from the woods, and they also noticed what looked like intestine on the side of the road. I personally saw what looked like an upright black figure walking west across a road in Rehoboth one night, and there was only woods to my left and a field and woods to my right. Still, I wasn't close enough to really see it. I've heard interesting things in the woods, and I've seen multiple odd branch/tree twists and rock formations..." -From an e-mail I recieved on 10/15/07
"Supposedly Moses Scout Reservation in Woronoco Mass. is haunted by several entities. Crowne Point campsite has the "Scoutmaster" - a figure in classic BSA scoutmaster dress (campaign hat, knee socks, whistle, neckerchief, scout shorts) appears...My son and his buddy saw the Scoutmaster and while he is benign, he does put a scare in the scouts. The land was donated to the Boy Scouts. In the Manor House (originally the family home) when you are in the kitchen the smell of blueberries will arise when someone says, "I like blueberry muffins" The aroma is strong and then dissipates. Also I have seen a light go straight across the upstairs (where the family bedrooms were)...this is no easy feat as there are walls between the windows, yet the light went straight from one side to the other as if it was one huge empty room. I went straight to my camp site after seeing that....
There are blue and red orbs that fly about the parade grounds and by the wolf pit. Moses Scout Reservation has General Knox's trail running through it. Gen. Knox brought the cannon from Fort Ticonderoga to Boston along what is now Route 20....there is talk of the Colonial Soldier on the parade grounds late at night and the 'powder keg' that appears/disappears...." -From an e-mail I recieved on 8/4/07
"I probably saw this about June of 1999. I'm not sure of the exact date... We were in Abington, Massachusetts. We were travelling into Holbrook, Massachusetts. And it was pretty overcast... there were clouds covering the sky because it had just rained and it was just a really cloudy day... I looked out the passenger side window of my friend's car and I saw a star below the clouds, and I didn't think anything of it because it wasn't moving or anything, and it was just a ball of light, and I thought it was a star. It was a little bigger than a star, but I thought it was a star. And we were travelling up the road, and I thought I saw it move but I still thought it was a star, and I thought my mind was playing tricks on me and everything. And then I looked at it again, and I definitely saw it move. So I told my friend to pull the car over. We pulled into a side street, both of us got out, staring directly at the ball of light beneath the clouds. The light made a "Z" pattern in the sky, then took off up through the clouds. And it was not visible to us. And all the eairs stood up on the back of my neck, and my friend was in shock also. So we actually went looking for this star-like object. And we were not in luck... [Later that night, on an errand nearby, while standing outside the car] I felt this weird urge to look over my shoulder. And I looked over my shoulder and there was this distinct object. I could only see the lights, in a triangular shaped pattern, hovering over a tree. I immediately told my friend John to look also- he saw it. We both got scared. I ran across the street because the object started moving. He tried to go back to his house and get his camera but it was too late at this time so he sat there with me and watched. The object- it made like, a distinct pattern. It went over the trees in the distance- you could see it. And then it came above our heads again, but it was higher this time. And then it just went out of sight, like it ascended into the sky. And that was it... I was genuinely scared." Recorded 6/13/01
"It was about 5 years ago, and I was in... Kettletown National Park, in Connecticut somewhere... I was camping and I was sitting by a lake and it was the middle of the night, with my uncle, and I looked up and I saw something very strange shaped- it was diamond shaped- it had about, I think it was 3 or- it was about 4 white lights, and it was shooting all over the place. Completely silent. And then it went- that's it. It went behind a bunch of trees. My uncle chased it like a maniac. He kept screaming, "I need to get to the UFO. That's a real one!" And then- that was it. And then it just went behind the mountain." Recorded 6/22/01
"When I was maybe 10 or 11 (c. 1995), I was walking back to my house [in N. Egremont MA] after dark with a friend. As we approached the back door, which is actually the main entrance, we both stopped dead. With it's front paws on the stone wall which contains the upper level of lawn, was what I can only describe as a spectral wolf (I could faintly make out the wall behind it). It stared straight at us as we began to back away. It hopped up onto the upper level of lawn and trotted off into the woods, and we turned around and bolted in through the front door. Both my dogs were inside at the time and I brought one of them outside to see if she smelled anything. She showed no sign of smelling another animal. I later asked my friend if she had seen anything or if i was just imagining things. She responded that she had not seen anything but that she had heard footsteps in the leaves coming from that direction as well as a heavy panting."- Received in an e-mail 12/10/03
